Confusion over Ham bus stop
THIS is the bus stop with an identity crisis.
First buses travelling on Ham Drive in Plymouth are refusing to pick up passengers at the bus stop at Ham Drive Community Centre, heading north, according to city Labour leader Tudor Evans.

MYSTERY: Cllr Ian Gordon with confused bus passengers Pauline Singleton, Dawn Downey, Brian Downey and Mrs Fullbrook
On the other side of the road, Citybus drivers heading south happily pull over for passengers, Mr Evans said.
"Residents have been told that the stop is a hazard," Mr Evans said.
"I don't know what the hazard is, but Citybus services are stopping on the other side."
Herald photographer Penny Cross said: "Tudor Evans and some of the Labour councillors held out their thumbs for a photo.
"Just then a First bus came by – and stopped. We thought that was the end of the photo, but the driver just told us, 'I'm sorry, but I'm not allowed to pick you up here'."
The phantom bus stop was a mystery to First and to the city council's public transport team.
A council spokeswoman said: "A First manager has been out there today but is none the wiser.
"Neither First nor the council has received any complaints from drivers or members of the public about this."

“Solution: Remove the bus stop AND the bus company. They couldn't run a bath. I agree - just let Citybus run ALL inner boundary services and let Last Grim Western run the service out of the city - they might have enough buses that don't break down to do that (might)”

Can they not have put this line at the beginning of this pointless article? Would have saved the effort in reading it... Obviously short of news.”

“Excuse me Mr Council, i have complained about the bus not stopping, however it seems to you to complain 4 times to get this council to register your complaint”

“Why don't they just get rid of the zebra crossing?”

“Angela there is ZEBRA CROSSING right infront of the stop, placing the bus stop where it is prevents cars who would not be able to see pedstrians using it from passing whilst the bus stopped at its stop - it is quite a sensible setup really - although as D says it might be against the rules. This case the bus actually blocks the road whilst it is stopped making it safer for everyone surely the bus operators can see the sense in that”
