Consortium bids to buy speedway's Plymouth Devils
PLYMOUTH Devils could be taken over by a consortium, it emerged today.
It is understood the four-strong consortium is attempting to iron out one or two difficulties before the deal can be finalised.
Completion of the take-over is unlikely to happen this season, although the consortium would find it desirable to have the matter wrapped up before the speedway promoters' annual meeting in November.
The Devils' present promoter and chairman, businessman Mike Bowden, has said frequently that the club is for sale.

Bowden has gone as far as to urge fans to turn out and support the St Boniface Arena-based club or face the prospect of it going under.
