Irene will be open daily from 11am to 5pm from 28th March to 1st April, the weekend of 6-7th April, and Saturday 13th April.
Skipper Rob Salvidge said: “Plymouth has such a rich and exciting maritime history and to bring such a wonderful ship to Sutton Harbour enables people to relive the old days which are a fascinating contrast with today’s dynamic regeneration going on around the waterfront.”
On Saturday 30th March from 3pm to 4pm there will be family fun on the Barbican Parade, near the New Custom House with a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. Children can join all their favourite characters from Alice in Wonderland to enjoy a feast of delicious food and drink and have the chance to win some great goodies in a free prize draw.
The cost is £2 and there is no age restriction, but attendance is limited to the first 100 children. Tickets are available in advance from the Tourist Information Centre, Southside Street, in the Barbican or First Stop Reception at the Civic Centre
Charlotte Malcolm, Commercial Marketing Manager for Sutton Harbour Holdings said: “I’m delighted that Plymouth Waterfront Partnership has organised such a varied line up of events for the Easter weekend, with something to appeal to all members of the family. I hope that while visitors are here they take the opportunity to discover Sutton Harbour’s existing leisure and entertainment facilities, as well as the cafes, restaurants and bars that make the waterfront such a vibrant destination.”
Sarah O’Leary, Plymouth Waterfront Partnership Manager said: “PWP has created a packed programme of family activities for Easter, acting on behalf of BID Members to attract more visitors to the historic harbour. Making the most of the fantastic quayside setting, this is the first of a strong line up of exciting events in Plymouth’s Waterfront, the www.visitplymouth.co.uk website is packed full with events and things for families to do this year.”
