County honours for Marine
MARINE Academy Plymouth Football Club have had four players from their current under-16 squad included in this season's Devon side after impressing at recent trials.
The county under-16 side drew 2-2 in an entertaining encounter away at Oxford in their first game.
All four Marine Academy players played a vital role within the match with Sam Jessop captaining the side and Reece Shanley getting on the scoresheet with both Elliott Cunningham and Cory Tippett also impressing with their performances.
Mark Tippett, Marine Academy's under-16 manager said: "All four MAP players made a real impact in a good game of football and I'm really proud of the players for both achieving a place in the squad and also to watch them perform in the manner they did."
Darren Stewart, Marine Academy's chairman, added: "As a club we have countless players at the younger age groups achieve contracts at professional clubs so for players to be recognised for their ability at this age group is again a real achievement for the club and testament to the hard work both the players and managers put into developing both teams at individual players at Marine Academy."
Devon's next fixture is at Coach Road this Sunday.
