"Events like this are very worthwhile as they definitely help to get my name out there."

For many the highlight of the day was the spectacular catwalk shows featuring designer outfits for the wedding party from The Ivory Tower, The Wedding Company, Prudence Gowns and Jane Fashions of Torquay.

New to the catwalk this year was Bella Bella Bridal Wear who used the show to launch their new business which opens on Saturday.

Alison Newton, owner of Bella Bella, said: "It was a very good show. I was very apprehensive initially but it ran very smoothly.

"I had a few tears when I saw our collection coming down the runway. It was a busy day and I'm already looking to book in for the next one."

Showing their range of men's formal wear on the catwalk was the Ivory Tower and Moss.

David Onslow, owner of Celebration Balloons who has been exhibiting with the show since it began, said: "We had a lot of enquiries for weddings in 2014 and 2015 and also a lot of bookings for weddings taking place in the next couple of weeks and months."

Gemma Mulcahy, events coordinator for The Herald, said the show had been a great success.

She said: "I was really pleased with the turn out again and the continued support from all our exhibitors. It was nice to see several new exhibitors too this time, as well as our regulars.

"It's always nice to see so many happy people in love and people really seemed to enjoy the superb catwalk shows.

"It was another hugely successful Westcountry Wedding Show."
