PLESSEY SEMICONDUCTOR P&D SNOOKER LEAGUE

IN THE Thursday league, Mike Ford recorded the highest break so far with a great 58 break for Rileys A in a 3-2 win at The Tavy Club A, and also won 3-2 at home to Newton Readers. Elburton B went down 3-2 at home to The Tavy Club A, despite Mike Kelly winning both frames.

In a tight contest The Tavy Club B beat Elburton A 3-2 with Ian Grainger winning both frames.

In Tuesday division one, Steve Brookshaw was in fine form again with breaks of 76 and 50 in Rileys A 6-0 success at ESSA. Belgrave C had a good 4-2 win at Riley's F (Mike Ford 44). Rileys E won 4-2 at home to Belgrave F. Honours finished even between Belgrave B and Barbican Accountants.

In Division Two, Rileys H are nine points clear after a good 5-1 win at Elburton. Second placed Rileys D won 4-2 against club rivals Rileys C. Plymouth City Bus, in third, were held at the in form Belgrave D. GWRSA C had a good 4-2 win at Plaza C for whom Roy Davis won both frames. In a great match Rileys I had a great draw at home to Belgrave G.

The league is holding its representative match against Cornwall on Saturday (5.30pm).

PLYMOUTH MONDAY SNOOKER LEAGUE

SIMON LOYE from GWRSA B was this year's winner of the HJ Pitcher Memorial Snooker Tournament, which was played at the Belgrave Snooker Club.

The final was the best of five frames and Loye's opponent was Adam Fisher from Rileys.

The match went to the fifth and final frame after Loye won the first, then Fisher won the next two, only for Loye to pull the match back and win the fourth frame and the deciding fifth frame.

To reach the final Fisher had wins against Peter Needham (Belgrave D), Dan Taylor (Plaza H), Adrian Criddle (Embassy A) and Peter Harrison (GWRSA B). Loye won against Melvin Rixon (Plymouth Citybus A), Paul Heath (Stuart B), Maggie Baugh (Beacon Park A) and Luke Jewell (Plaza H).

PLYMOUTH SOCIAL CLUBS SNOOKER LEAGUE

THE highest break of the week in the Premier saw Belgrave F's Tom Kevern make a superb 70.

Darren Bond then made a 35 for the Belgrave A side, who won the match 4-1.

Belgrave B were on form and had Chris Bond make a 67. This was followed by a 30 from Tony Farrant and a 30 from Steve Courts in their 5-0 whitewash of Ford Cons C.

Neil Morris managed a 44 to help Ivybridge to a 3-2 win over Keyham Cons.

Rileys had Hayden Pinhey making a 38 in their 5-0 win over Saltash WM A.

Plymstock B's Lee Moore made 31 to win his frame but he then saw his team-mate, Lee Jayne, lose his frame on the black and the match to Pennycross A by 3-2.

Plympton Cons A were also on form and managed to take all five points from Belgrave C.

In Division One, Torpoint Comrades had Simon Deacon and James House make breaks of 44 and 27 respectively in their 5-0 win over GWRSA Laira B. This victory pushes the Torpoint side four points clear in top spot.

Plymstock A's Al Ackland and Shaun Unwin made breaks of 47 and 24 respectively in their team's 4-1 win over Crownhill RBL C.

Keith Canning made a 40 to help Crownhill RBL A to a 4-1 win over Saltash WM B, who now move into third spot.

Belgrave D were also on form and managed to beat Hyde Park C by 4-1.

Ford Cons D, in Division Two, had Lee Marshall make breaks of 17 and 18 to win his frame and help them to a 4-1 win over Stuart D.

Woodland Fort B's Dave Allen made a 22 clearance break to win his frame on the black ball. However, the team lost by 3-2 to ESSA when their Mike Hughes won the deciding frame on the black ball.

Rob Martin made a 22 for Stuart B but lost the frame on the black ball to Telecom B's Colin Hearne. The Telecom side went on to win the match 3-2.

WEEK 18 saw no major upsets but a couple of close games.

One saw Bar Mez Kings visit the Standard B and the score was tied at 3-3 after the singles with wins for Jason Pemberton, Dan La Roche and Nigel Cox for the Standard with replies from Andy King, Grant Pomeroy and Mike Clare for Bar Mez.

Bar Mez took two out of the three doubles for a 5-4 win.

In a late Knockout Cup match, Queens A disposed of Team Tidy 5-3.
