THE time is right for Gadzooks as the new theatre company prepare for their first show.

The Plymouth-based players put on All in the Timing from February 17-20.

David Ives' collection of six one-act comedies looks at situations ranging from the death of communist icon Leon Trotsky to minimalist composer Philip Glass's existential crisis in a bakery.

The show offers slick wordplay, smart comedy and straight silliness with wide appeal.

Director Jane Grayston said: "It has been such a treat to work with enthusiastic and open-minded people from across the community, and I really hope that we get splendid audiences to relish their hard work!"

The semi-professional company formed last year to produce 'accessible, challenging and stimulating pieces of theatre' using actors aged over 16.

All in the Timing is taking place at the Edgcumbe Theatre at Devonport High School for Boys on February 17-19 and at Sparkwell Village Hall on February 20.

For tickets, call Jane on 07976 437889.

Gadzooks have been awarded £1,200 by The Co-operative Group for their work in the community.

Pete Vallance, of the Co-op, said: "We are very pleased to have formed this partnership with Gadzooks and look forward to seeing the work they undertake in the Plymouth community."
