TRANSFER-LISTED Plymouth Argyle captain Darren Purse wants a speedy resolution to the saga over his footballing future.

The 35-year-old centre-back has been told he can leave the Pilgrims during the January transfer window.

Argyle have taken that step with the aim of using some of the money they save on paying Purse's salary to make two or three additions to their squad.

Herald Sport understands a couple of League Two clubs are showing interest in the experienced defender.

It is believed Purse was close to a move out of Home Park in November, before the deadline for 'emergency loan' signings.

However, Argyle were not able to get a replacement for him so the deal was not completed.

It has not been an easy situation for Purse to be in but his commitment to the cause remains undiminished.
