“Whenever he has not played we have looked very vulnerable to corners, free kicks etc. No surprise he has gone to a top league 2 club. New manager whoever you are - you have one hell of a job to save us . Im afraid the Blanchard / Nelson combination is just not strong enough. A very sad blow to our survival hopes - we have lost one of the few players on the books capable of performing at this level.”

“Its not that bad that he's gone, I'd rather have Macdonald back to be honest Don't get me wrong, I like the bloke but not a player to build a team around for the future and noticeably not as good this season
Nelson to step up now.
He's gone so move on now
Thanks for everything Pursey”

“Bonkers that is how I can describe Brent and Sexstone, to pay Darren Purse the most influential player Plymouth Argyle to leave is sheer madness. They are both like turkeys voting for Christmas. With their decision making track record it does not bode well for the future.”

“Not happy that Pursey has been forced out , how many others will follow. I'd like to thank Darren for helping us stay in the league last season and wish him all the best. He did a great job and has certainly brought on the younger players in the team. Who will we get now with his experience , no one i expect. Good luck Darren and thankyou. I'm glad your not playing tomorrow at least now we might have a slim chance.”
