Dawn champions the pasty
COMEDIAN Dawn French told the nation how her idea of "food heaven" was a Cornish pasty, when she appeared on a weekend television show.
More than three million viewers watched the West Country actress give tips on how to best serve a pasty as she starred as a guest on BBC1 daytime hit Saturday Kitchen.
"It is what I would like to eat every day if I could," she said.
"It is everything I love: it is very filling; it is very nutritious and there's an amazing history with it."

Dawn went on to describe her Plymouth relatives as "Janners", much to TV chef and Saturday Kitchen host James Martin's amusement.
After a cookery display in which celebrity chefs baked their own pasties, funnywoman Dawn got to rate a crimped treat made by the show's host.
She told him his effort was a "proper job".
