And they have also added defender Anthony Charles to their squad as they bid to get away from the League Two relegation zone.

Charles has signed a permanent deal at Home Park until the end of the season.

“@GreenGOM,you could well be right, but even so I note Exeter have signed Mark Molesley from Bournmouth on a free untill the end of the season. In the games he played in for us pre Christmas he certainly made a difference to our attacking options.Like you as an older Argyle fan I know route one can work but with a midfielder who can run at defences and who is also prepared to shoot at every opportunity surely it would give us more options.
But best wait to see what JS has planned for the rest of the season and support him in whatever style he adopts.”

    “Alabar1.
Maybe JS is looking for some big kicking centre backs and a selection of strikers to get on the end of long balls. As older Argyle fans we know this system can work and, although not pretty, may be what's required to get us out of a hole.”

“Whilst wishing Charles the very best of luck during his time with the greens,I am surprised that given the number of centre backs already at the club JS feels the need to recruit another when the team is screaming out for a creative midfielder to set up the openings for our frontmen.
Here's hoping for three points from Southend if the match is on.”

“I'm a loyal supporter of 41 years and will continue to be always. However I'm also a realist. We will never attract big name players and any good players we develop will move on, there are 3 main reasons for this:
    1. Geography, Plymouth despite being the largest city on the south coast is isolated and has poor transport links. Moving here would require lots of hours travelling or moving house. Footballers prefer to stay in areas where there are several clubs in close proximity.
    2. Money, we will never be a rich club. Yes our attendances are high for league 2 but were poor in the championship. No owner is going to throw money at the club without some return on the investment. This local apathy towards the club also extends to merchandise and sponsorship.
    3. Plymouth Argyle is a small name. The name doesn't smack of much kudos or gravitas and therefore loses attraction with footballers wanting to go up in the world of football.
I will continue to support them as my club and not fall into this Janner trap of preferring Man Utd or Liverpool despite never watching them.

“Hang on! Murray has played one game, also he is signed up with a championship side, If you remember last season, Nick Chadwick was knocking them in when he came back to us, look at him this season, Rhys Griffiths was knocking them in for us this season, look at him now, so how can you make an opinion of Murray on one game??? I never will stop supporting Argyle the point I am trying to make is, we haven't got the money or the pull to get us out of this. We are where we are because it reflects the standard of our team and hardly looks like we can improve because we are skint! I hope Murray will be fine, but not so sure about the rest of them! I actually felt more confident last season, that we would avoid the drop. Fletcher had a good squad at times this season and he blew it big time, should have gone much sooner.”

“It looks to me as if JS is signing anybody who'll agree to come here and make the numbers up. We can't afford to pay decent money, so we'll have to settle for what we can afford. I wish them all the best regardless.”

    “Sidelinesam
You could say that about Murray before he played for us, no one would say that now”

“We are obviously absolutely skint, we haven't signed anyone of note and just have to hope that the manager can get something out of them, they mostly seemed to have had a little bit of limelight in the lower leagues and then been let go for not performing. It does not look good.”
