THE Herald broke the news that Plymouth Argyle and Plymouth Albion's games had been postponed via our sports text alert service.

Supporters were sent the information to their mobiles telephones on Saturday morning as soon as the decisions were made.

It was then published on the newspaper's website – thisisplymouth.co.uk

The Herald's sports alert service informs fans of any breaking news and also provides them with the results of Argyle and Albion's matches.

During the summer the service let readers know how our Olympians got on in Beijing and also briefed fans with news of latest Argyle signings

Texts costs as little as 25p and the maximum you are charged for is three a week, even if you receive more.

You can sign up for the service by texting 65100 with the following words TH SPORT followed by your gender and date of birth ie TH SPORT F 20.01.80.
