Tavistock claimed their first home win of the season, 2-1 over West Devon rivals Plymouth Marjon B, to move up to eighth before next Saturday's home test against Penzance at Kelly College.

Lisa Dent's Plym Valley side warmed up for next Saturday's South Division top of the table derby against Caradon with a resounding 8-0 home win over second from bottom Exe 3.

Grace Smith (3), Dani Coombes (2), Sarah Robertson, Kat Pitcher and Pippa Jephcott shared the goals for Valley, who led 3-0 at half time.

Newcomer Coombes was Valley's player of the match.

In the men's Premiership, fifth- placed Plymouth Marjon drew 3-3 at seventh-placed Whitchurch thanks to two goals from skipper Simon Fenwick.

George Bissett was also on target for the Reds, who were disappointed to draw with their Welsh hosts.

Next Saturday Plymouth host unbeaten leaders Isca, who have set their stall out as promotion favourites with five straight victories following a 2-1 Exeter derby win over University A, last season's runners-up.

Isca's second team top Conference South by five points following a 3-1 win at Bodmin and second-placed PGSOB's cross-city 3-2 derby defeat by Plymouth University.

Gareth Roberts and Mike Carter scored for PGs, who remain a point ahead of third-placed Plymouth Marjon A, who lost 2-1 at Ashmoor.

Scott Saunders opened the scoring at Ashmoor but Plymouth failed to build on their bright start and the home side drew level from a rebound as the ball flew off a post leaving keeper Torran Hockley stranded.

Skipper-coach Jamie Oxley reports: "Sam Blonden made his debut after returning to the club following a seven-year break."

University's win hoists them into the top four.

City-based United Services moved up to eighth in Southern 2 following their first league win of the season, 3-2 at Plymouth University A.

Dan Bruce scored for injury-hit PGSOB B, who lost 5-1 at home to unbeaten frontrunners Yeovil & Sherborne A.

Plymouth Marjon C lost 6-0 at home to second-placed Okehampton.
