RUGBY: Former Plymouth Albion full-back James Love has joined Championship rivals London Scottish, it has been confirmed.

The 24-year-old, Albion's top points scorer last season with 247 points, arrived at Brickfields from Hartpury College and National Three South West last summer.

London Scottish director of Rugby Simon Amor is excited to see Love hopefully develop at The Athletic Ground in 2012/13.

He said: "James scored nearly 250 points for Plymouth last season, which is obviously a fantastic kicking record.

"However, he is a great attacking threat as well with ball in hand. I'm really excited to see how he develops next season."

Love left Albion to move to the London area, as previously reported in The Herald.

"Most of my family live towards the London area. That's the main reason for moving," said Love.

"I'm very grateful to Plymouth. They provided me with a lot of opportunities. I could not have asked for much more. I just want to move closer to home."

Albion coach Nat Saumi said: "It is disappointing for us, but he lives in London and wants to be closer to his family."
