More than 250 extras, who were selected during auditions in Plymouth, took part in the filming alongside well- known British actors and actresses including Geraldine James and Tim Pigott-Smith.
Kingsand cafe owner Francesca Bennett was one of the hundreds of local people selected to be an extra in the multi-million-pound movie.
Francesca played one of the Victorian garden party guests in the film and features at the beginning and the end of the upcoming film.
"It was a wonderful experience," Francesca said.
"We got to wear these amazing clothes which had been brought over from Rome. They were simply beautiful."
Francesca said she also got the opportunity to meet and talk to the acclaimed director Tim Burton, who has directed the movie.
"He was wonderful too," she added.
"He was just a really nice chap. He was so creative and artistic and really nice to work with."
Alice In Wonderland stars Johnny Depp and will be premiered on March 5.

Thousands of people queued up outside The New Continental Hotel for the chance to be a star in a Tim Burton Disney film. Filmed August 6, 2008.

“Went to see the film Tuesday 8th at the Reel cinama in Plymouth.
Good evening with red carpet for all the extras including myself to take pride of being in this film.
I watch this movie and did see my self. But looked like the film had be heavly edited at the strat and I am certain lot of scens which should of been in had been cut out. There was a lot of work done on the sets at Antony house on the one week there. I know that they did a lot of filming. Even Alice when she was on the steps, I was next to her. The cameras film me next to her, I was hoping they would use that scene because showing all the guest on the grass from that angle. So was not used. I am sure Tim Burtin should of used this scene. Also there was other scens he cold of used. Everyone made the effort on that day arriving on film set at 5am.
This film had been shorted so much. Even the scene in Cornwall at the harbour when Alice set sail, it was so quick that clip. Once again, many extras could not see themselves on the set.
I think it could of been made better even if it would be a very long film as the past Lord of the Rings movie was.
Maybe Tim Burton will revist this movie some day. Very strange ending to this film, like Tim Burton may have in mind to make a second part some day.
Good film but could be better from Tim Burton.
If anyone see ths and a extra at Antony house, please leave me your commit.”

“Alice in wounderland.
I was a film extra in this movie.
But I found being an extra was not so good as many people thought. The costumes had not fitted correctly and some woman complain about how shabby their dresses had been.
I did not think we had been taking care well on the day.
We had been We went on set and just stood around, we all did not realy know what to do. There had been no real direction from the film crew.
Tim burton is a good director.
Was a very strange day, I thought we all could of been directed correct way, instead we just had to postion our selves the best we could.
This was a London company who supplied the equipment and the crew for the filming.
Seems a good film but on the day of filming not so good for the extras on that day.
A good film to be seen.”

“You have published SEVERAL incorrect statements concerning the Alice movie.
Firstly, however much the National unTrust likes to blow its own horn, Antony House was NOT the only location shoot - Square Sail Shipyard and harbour at Charlestown was also a key location, where the final scenes were shot.
Neither I nor any of the 80 or so extras from Plymouth (I was one) have so faqr as I am aware received invitations to any premiere or preview - these seem to have been organised privately and without any input by Bandersnatch Films Ltd, the Alice production company.
Please correct your errors.”

“I wish the picture was bigger, as I have been trying to spot my late husband Tim, who was so thrilled to be an extra in this film and so upset that he would never see it.”

“The main question is did the film makers give sufficient money to The National Trust to pay for on going protection work to Antony House?”
