Extreme Reading event takes to the ski slope
FAMILIES are being invited to a reading event with a difference.
Plymouth City Council's library service is hitting the slopes at the Plymouth Ski and Snowboard Centre on Saturday to mark the end of its Extreme Reading competition. And people are being invited to a skiing-themed story time in the Alpine Lodge at 10am, followed by a fun skiing session on the piste.
Extreme Reading invites people to submit photos of themselves, friends or family reading in unusual, interesting and exciting places. There are prizes up for grabs, including a family visit to Dartmoor Zoo, two tickets for The Cresta Run at Plymouth Ski and Snowboard Centre, two tickets for a Plymouth Argyle home match, family sharing books from Waterstones in Drake Circus, and subscriptions to Practical Photography magazine. The competition has six age categories: under-eights; eight to 12s; 13 to 18s; over-19s; over-60s and 'intergenerational' (showing more than one generation).
