ASHBURTON Blues Festival was such a success last year that it is being relocated to a site at Seale-Hayne, near Newton Abbot, to enable more music fans to enjoy the top-quality offering.

Bluesman Andy Fairweather Low kicks off the weekend on Friday June 1, world renowned blues singer/guitarist Eric Bibb headlines the show on the Saturday and Devon diva Elkie Brooks tops the bill on the Sunday.

"The festival has become so popular that the old Town Hall was no longer suitable for our main stage," says organiser Michael Cranmer.

"I was approached by representatives of Hannah's at Seale-Hayne with a proposal to move it there. The beautiful setting and the fact that we can run everything in one place was a deciding factor. Fringe gigs will be dotted around the Grade-II listed site, with a craft fair, and workshops to keep everyone happy.

"The much larger capacity means we can bring in major stars. All our headliners sell out to capacity crowds at venues around the world. Seale-Hayne are right behind us and see this as the start of their growth in hosting major events and putting themselves on the map".

Tickets can be bought at www.ashburtonbluesfestival.com.
