“Think of how humiliated and embarrassed he'll now be feeling following his failed suicide attempt. The indignity of being put in a harness, hauled up the cliff and returned to somewhere he was trying to get away from. He needs counselling, otherwise he will only try again.
Or, maybe, he's was trying to emulate the antics of his hero Tom Daley, after being continually exposed to his exploits on television. I won't let my dog watch him, for exactly that reason. I've got a two year old Shih Tzu who's at a very impressionable age.”

“That is an ignorant comment Miss Anthrope. The owner should actually spin around like a hammer thrower and as long as they let go at the right moment the dog will fly off the cliff never to be seen again. That is a far more reliable method than just driving up onto Dartmoor and letting it go as you never know, it might find it's way home or get spotted by a friend or neighbour running about after sheep.”

“The poor animal must have been distressed. Thankfully it has been returned to its owner safe and well.”
