HORSE owners are being urged to take care so their animals are not frightened this Bonfire Night.

The British Horse Society (BHS) sent out advice so horse owners could be prepared for fireworks displays on November 5.

They said people should find out if displays were to take place near where their horses are kept and if so to advise local organisers, councils and schools that there are horses in the area.

The BHS has a horses and fireworks advice leaflet giving useful information about preparing and managing your horses for firework season.
