LUXURY boatbuilder Princess Yachts will mark the 30th anniversary of St Luke's Hospice with a £30,000 donation.

St Luke's, which provides palliative care for patients from the region, must raise more than £4.5million every year to stay open.

Chris Gates, managing director at Princess Yachts International, said the company decided to support the charity because it had been "invaluable" for employees and their families over the years.

"We are delighted to be able to mark their 30th anniversary with a donation of £30,000," he said.

"It is a charity close to the hearts of so many people in our organisation and so fitting that we can show our appreciation of the wonderful work they do in our community."

Earlier this year the mould shop at Princess Yachts produced a spectacular six foot tall collection pot for the charity which has appeared at a number of fundraising events.
