Flagship on visit to Germany
DEVONPORT-based HMS Bulwark was today due to sail from Plymouth on its way to Hamburg for a four-day visit.
The Royal Navy's current flagship will host visitors and tours, and the crew will take part in a range of sporting fixtures against local opposition.
Captain Alex Burton, HMS Bulwark's Commanding Officer, said: "We are delighted to be visiting the historic city of Hamburg and look forward to developing our already close relationship with the armed forces of Germany.
"My sailors and marines are greatly looking forward to demonstrating Bulwark's capability and being able to have some time to enjoy all that Hamburg has to offer."
Following the visit to Hamburg, HMS Bulwark will take part in a multi-national amphibious exercise in the waters in and around Norway, acting as the flagship for the Commander of the UK's Amphibious Task Group.

“It's a shame our own people (of Plymouth) can not have the same treatment-we only get the chance to see any of our own countries ships, if we can afford the extortionate 'Navy Days' prices.
Also Hamburg has the same to offer as Plymouth-except its 'Legal'.”
