Flood warning for Plymouth as another 40mm of rain set to fall in one day
Parts of Plymouth could see flooding again this weekend as another 40mm of rain is set to fall across the city on Saturday.
Parts of the city, including Colebrook and Gdynia Way, have flooded repeatedly throughout December after days of heavy rain.

"Western regions can then expect a period of persistent, heavy rain over high ground and the public should be aware of possible disruption due to localised flooding."
The main railway line in and out of the South West is expected to open later today after being washed out and flooded again just before Christmas.
But the line will have to be watched closely again this weekend as there are 82 flood warnings and 185 flood alerts in place across England and Wales.
While the rain may not be as heavy as earlier in the months, the ground is already saturated and river levels are high after recent flood events.

“Well this has to be a result of global warming, and this is only after a small rise. The solution has to come from every country in the world and to be acted upon immediately and not 20 or 30 years down the line. An act of God it certainly isn't, but the actions of man it is!
What can be done about it from our point of view... not much but make sure your drains and gutters are clear of debris and carry an umbrella!”
