Footballer fined over offensive Tom Daley tweet
A footballer arrested after posting a homophobic tweet about diver Tom Daley has been suspended for one match by his club and fined £500.
Midfielder Daniel Thomas posted the message about Plymouth's Tom Daley, 18, and his Olympic diving partner Peter Waterfield, on July 30.
Thomas, of Port Talbot FC in the Welsh Premier League, tweeted the abusive message after the pair came fourth in the 10m synchronised dive at London 2012.
He escaped prosecution but has now been punished by the Football Association of Wales (FAW).
