Forces children in tribute to parents

CHILDREN from forces families paid proud tributes to their parents at a special school assembly.

The event at Torpoint Nursery and Infant School saw youngsters perform to mums, dads and grandparents – as well as members of the Torpoint Branch of the Royal British Legion.

Two members of the Royal British Legion held standards while the children spoke of the roles their service personnel parents carry out.

The children said how proud they were of their mums and dads before singing the Military Wives Choir hit Wherever You Are.

The school is part of HMS Heroes and has also become an affiliated member of the Royal British Legion.

At the end of the assembly the school was presented with a certificate acknowledging the support and encouragement that it gives to the Royal British Legion.
