Free ramble among Venus Beach pools
A FREE rockpool ramble is being organised at Bigbury-on-Sea next month by the Venus Beach Wildlife Fund. The aim is to help educate beach-goers about the wildlife they can find along the shore.
Everyone is welcome to the event, on Thursday, April 1, from 1pm, which will be led by Cat Ridout, the Devon Wildlife Trust's marine awareness officer.
"This rockpool ramble is a great opportunity to find out more about Devon's local marine environment," she said. "What better way to start the Easter holidays than exploring the fantastic rockpools which the tide uncovers at Bigbury- on-Sea beach?"
The rockpool ramble is organised by the DWT and the Venus Company as part of the Venus Beach Wildlife Fund project.
Michael Smith, managing director for Venus, said these events were fun.
"Families learn so much about marine life and how to preserve it for the future," he said. "We're very proud of the work DWT is doing with us; the ramble has become a very important part of our education programme."
Wear suitable footwear and meet outside the Venus Cafe in the lower car park. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free hot drinks are availble after the event courtesy of the Venus Cafe. For more information, call 01752 862538.
