Fundraising fayre to boost preparations for town's event

A CRAFT fayre and recipe booklet are being planned to raise money for this year's West Looe May Fayre.

The craft fayre, organised by West Looe Crafters, will be held at Hannafore Point Hotel on Sunday April 7.

Claire Hammond, who is organising the craft fayre said: "There will be 20 stalls featuring a wide range of crafts including; leather, driftwood, stained glass, woodturning, toys, coins, chalkboards, jewellery, slate, cards, knitting and sewing."

The second initiative to raise money for the May Fayre is a Cornish recipe booklet which is being organised by Frances Kenshole.

Frances said: "Residents are invited to submit recipes that are traditionally Cornish or have been handed down within families."

The May Fayre will be held on Saturday May 4 from 10.30am to 3pm, in and around West Looe.

It will begin with a precession and will include traditional may pole dancing, exhibitions, competitions and entertainment.
