ELFORDLEIGH
JACK PHILPOTTS started 2013 in style when he recorded a hole in one on the 137 yard 15th hole in the New Year's Day Trophy.
However, the ace was not enough to lead his team to victory as the event was won by Phil Smith, Clive Woodley, Alan Wills and Ben Roberts with 87 points.
In second place, with 83 points, was the team of Ian, Dean and Stuart Jolliffe and Matt Harrison.

The January Division One stableford was won by Andy Semmens with a score of 42 points. Mike Hall (40) was second with Steve Smith (37) third.
Bob Hawker (38) took the honours in Division Two from runner-up Steve Carder (37), who pipped Kenny Lecointe on countback.
Division Three was won by Jon Stead (39). Second place on countback went to Paul Hazell, with Tom McKellar (38) in third.
In the Sunday stableford ,the winner with 44 points was Ryan Frame. Steve Mumford (40) was second and John Stevens (38) third.
ST MELLION
JOHN STOCKER and Ray Lowden won the Fossils' pairs betterball competition with 44 points.
Second were David Dow and Andrew Corfield (43) with Chris Nash and David Brockbank (42 ocb) were third.
In the stableford competition, the Gold Division was won by Bruce Sobey with a score of 41 points.
It was a total shared with Bronze Division winner Graham Niven.

Three more matches in the winter greensomes were completed. Chris Nash and Colin Macdonald beat Captain Mike Whitehouse and Des Hughes by one hole, and this combination is emerging as the form horses for the overall title.
Cliff Sleat and Tony Prout beat Mick Heaton and Mike Edwards 3&2 and Alan Bridgeman helped partner David Wiseman to overcome club captain Andrew Corfield and his partner David West by two holes.

YELVERTON
JOHN CROCKER won the pro shop stableford with 39 points.
In joint second place were Jon King and Mike James with 38 points.
Steve Collins and Dave Fifield both scored 37 points to finish joint fourth.
