George's cycle for Alzheimer's
A MAN who lost his brother to Alzheimer's Disease has decided to don his lycra shorts and cycle 400km in his memory.
George Smith, will next month pedal through the Algarve on a three-day course.
The 59-year-old has taken up the challenge of cycling from Albufeira to Fatima, in Portugal, and hopes to raise £800 for the Alzheimer's Society after losing his brother Derek to the disease in July.
He said: "It will be a tough challenge but it's great to know that I will be raising funds to help support people to live well with dementia today and fund research to find a cure for tomorrow."
