BEN Howard and Plymouth Pavilions have come to the rescue of hundreds of fans left disappointed by ticket retailer See Tickets who oversold their allocation.

Last night ticket holders were being emailed by the retailer to inform them of the error which meant many tickets were no longer valid for tonight’s performance.

Some younger ticket-holders were said to be “in tears” after planning visits to Plymouth for the gig.

After hearing how so many fans had been left with no ticket, the Devonshire artist and his band announced they would return to the city for a second gig on Tuesday November as “the only way to make it up to them was to put on another show”.

Those with the invalid See Tickets tickets will receive free guaranteed seats plus a full refund.

His sell-out gig tonight will still go ahead and a spokesman for Plymouth Pavilions said there were still some tickets bought from See Tickets that would be valid for this evening’s performance.

Marketing officer at Plymouth Pavilions, Robert Maltby, said: “See tickets customers who have received communication that their tickets ARE VALID for tonight’s performance, need to report to Plymouth Pavilions Box Office at 6pm tonight to enable their tickets to be re-issued.

Please note Plymouth Pavilions Box Office will not be open before 6pm.

All fans that missed out by this unfortunate error by See will be issued full refunds and given free tickets to the new date on the 13th. See will be in touch with you very soon to explain the process moving forward.”

The show on November 13 is now the only venue in the UK with tickets remaining to see Ben Howard live in 2012.

Tickets for the 13 November are now on sale through www.benhowardmusic.co.uk/live and www.musicglue.com/benhoward today and via Plymouth Pavilions Box Office at 10am on Monday 5 November.
