Green fingered residents at Plymstock care home
Residents at Plymstock care home, The Retreat, have been out helping to create a new 'Sit and Ponder' seating area in their award winning garden ready for use when the warmer weather comes.
Frederick Whittington, age 96, and Frank Larkins, age 83, have been keeping an eye on gardener, Colin Gale, making sure that he is meeting their exacting standards.

Having won Plymouth in Bloom awards for the past two years, most recently Gold Awards in three categories in 2012, it is particularly important to the staff and residents to have a tranquil and relaxing garden.
"It's extremely important that our residents see The Retreat as a home from home and enjoy an excellent quality of life," said Leanne Gale, Manager of The Retreat, which is owned by Sunshine Care. "As a number of them were keen gardeners when living in their own homes, we are delighted that they take such an eager interest here and we look forward to seeing the results of their hard work coming into bloom later in the year."
