Grey menace
WITH reference to Avis Crook's letter on squirrels. The Grey Squirrel is a rodent and a menace to young trees.
This animal has seen off our reds which are in decline. Only a very few areas are left now where the Red can be seen, one of which is an island which puts them in isolation and safe.
I don't believe Prince Charles is the only one who would like to see the Grey reduced in numbers in our countryside.

“Grey squirrels have as much right to be here as prince charles.. The royal family are not natural natives to this country nor are the greys..but they have both been here long enugh to have been accepted by the majority of the population..I have squirrels that visit on a daily basis and enjoy their antics. I have lots of photos of them and the majority of people who view them give me positive feedback.. The red squirrel population in the north of the country should be encouraged to grow in numbers..but not at the expense of the grey..
Thank you...”
