Guided walk will reveal Devonport Park's history and future

PEOPLE are being invited to take a spring walk in Devonport Park to find out about its past and get a taste of its future.

Devonport park was awarded £3.29million from the Big Lottery for a package of improvements, and walkers will get a guide to all the changes that have been taking place over the last few years as well as a potted history of the city's oldest park.

Recent developments at the park include an adventure play area, new signs, seats and litter bins and the restoration of historic monuments including the Doris Gun and a new bandstand. Work is also underway on a new pavilion,which will have toilets, a café, changing rooms, a community room.

The guided walk will take place on Tuesday, March 23, starting at 10.30am, and will last for up to an hour and a half. To take part, turn up at the World War One Memorial, which is near the Exmouth Road/Stopford Place entrance.
