STRIKER Guy Madjo will not celebrate should he score for Plymouth Argyle in their League Two game against Port Vale at Home Park tomorrow (3pm).

Madjo had a short but successful loan spell at Vale last season, and has a lot of time for their experienced manager Micky Adams, as well as the club's players and supporters.

So, out of respect to them, the 28-year-old will be restrained in his reaction should he get a goal in what is set to be his first game at Home Park for the Pilgrims.

Madjo signed for Argyle on a one-month loan from League Two rivals Aldershot Town late last Friday.

He did not arrive in Plymouth until after midnight on the Saturday, but still appeared as a substitute in the 0-0 draw away to Torquay United that afternoon.

Madjo was still recovering from his overnight trip to the South West when he played at Plainmoor and promised the Green Army there was much more to come from him.

The Cameroon-born striker was taken on loan by Vale last November, after he had made only one substitute appearance for Stevenage at the start of that season.

In only his third game for the Valiants, Madjo scored a hat-trick in a 4-0 home win against Aldershot.

He ended up making five starts and one substitute appearance for the Staffordshire club, and netted four times, before returning to Stevenage at the start of January.

Later that month, Madjo completed a permanent move to Aldershot, where he scored eight goals in 20 games before the end of the season.

Madjo told Herald Sport: "I really did enjoy my time at Port Vale. Micky Adams, the manager, gave me a chance to show what I'm about.

"He took me on loan after I had been at Stevenage and not played two games in a row and put me in the team.

"I have to thank him for that, and I'm really looking forward to playing against him, but there will be no celebration if I score.

"I have so much respect for Micky Adams and everyone at Port Vale."

Madjo admitted he had found it difficult playing against Torquay so soon after signing for Argyle.

He only met his new team-mates for the first time when they assembled at Home Park before making the short trip to Plainmoor.

Madjo said: "I didn't get to Plymouth until past midnight, and had a few hours before sleep before travelling to Torquay.

"I felt as though I had still got that travelling in my legs and the fans will see more from me. I know what I can deliver and I will definitely prove myself and show what I'm about."

Despite his success at Aldershot in the final three months of last season, Madjo has fallen out of favour with manager Dean Holdsworth this term.

He has made only three substitute appearances for the Shots this term, and is at a loss to understand why he has been limited to that.

Madjo said: "Only the manager (Holdsworth) can answer that question because, myself, I don't know why he's not playing me.

"But I will always respect any manager's choice because they have to make decisions. That's their job.

"Whoever is selected in the team, or is in the squad at a club, are there because they have got something to offer.

"Whatever the manager decides to do, I just deal with it and respect it."

It has led to Madjo making the move to Argyle, who were short of attacking options after injuries Nick Chadwick, Paris Cowan-Hall and Rhys Griffiths.

He said: "It's a massive club in this division, definitely. The set-up and everything here is fantastic."
