YOUNGSTERS at a Plymouth children's centre spent their half term hunting for bears.

Organised by 4Children at the Popin Children's Centre, the 'bear hunt' brought to a life a number of scenes from Michael Rosen's popular children's book 'We're Going On A Bear Hunt'.

It was part of the half-term entertainment for under fives last week, during which 4Children informed families of the work of the centre, after they took over the running of the Plymouth YMCA Children's Centre on January 1.

As a national charity, 4Children works for children and families and with a wide range of partners throughout the country to support children and families and ensure they have access to services and support in their communities.

The bear hunt activities took a different scene from the story so that children were able to get involved with the set activities.

Scenes included; struggle through the snowstorm, wade through the grass, splash through the river, squelch through the mud in search of the bear and find a surprise in the cave on the other side of the dark forest.
