Head-on collision on Lipson Road sees two trapped
Plymouth Fire Service crews were called out to a dramatic high speed head-on collision on Lipson Road this evening.
Numerous calls had been streaming in about an accident on the road, and when the emergency services arrived at the scene they found two people described as 'walking wounded' while two other people were still trapped in their vehicles.
-

The Fire Service needed four sets of hydraulic rescue equipment, small tools and
lighting to extricate the two trapped males from the vehicles and they were taken from the site of collision to hospital.

“The head on collision was caused by a driver from Europe driving on the wrong side of the road theses two were the walk and wounded, the driver who caused this has cause 6 accidents prior to this one. the other two are in hospital both of which sustained multiple injuries and breaks, and both have had multiple operation to put them on the mend. More needs to be done on our to prevent this from happening again.”

“That particular bit of the road should be 10 mph .... as all who use it know . For it to be a "high speed crash" means that the usual numpties who think they are gods gift to driving fast have come unstuck . Shame they have to involve others in their stupidness. I hope they enjoyed their getting 30 seconds earlier to their destination at the sake of all others being put out ... which turned out to be about 3 weeks .
As others have said ... no sympathy to the idiots . I just hope that the innocent party isnt to badly injured at all. And this from a place just hundreds of yards from a fatality on the road last week. We see it every day. There is always the odd one or two that think they are above everyone else . I hope that these are the ones suffering the most . Praise be to the ones who drive decently and the ambulance and fire brigade and police who have to deal with these morons on a daily basis . I dont know how they keep so calm .I myself would let the ones responsible left forever trapped in their cars as a lesson to others as they pass by and see their skeletons .”

“And quite how did the casualties get to hospital??? By flying carpet, or was it perhaps hard working ambulance crews again who always fail to get a mention. As long as the fire service get their limelight!”

“I don't go along with all this "hope every one is ok" blah blah blah rubbish, the morons involved deserve every thing they get as long as anyone innocent weren't involved then that's ok.”

“Speed problems again, allegedly. Drivers travelling too fast into hazards and ignoring the law. The average speed in Ivybridge is about 40mph. But even the Council will say its not a problem because nobody has been killed or injured yet at certain problem areas. Be different outside their house of course...”

“High Speed....Head On....in a built up 30mph area? Curious! I am interested to hear further explanation on the cause. Having said that I hope all involved are OK and that no one is seriously hurt.”
