PUPILS have raised more than £1,000 for MacMillan Cancer Support by events they have organised. The students, from Hele's School in Plympton, raised £1250 as a result of the visit from the organisation. Year 11 students organised a non-uniform day asking all those who took part to wear something green, the colours of Macmillan, to show awareness of why they were raising money. They also took part in the 'World's Biggest Coffee morning', serving tea, coffee and homemade cakes and savouries. One student in particular who took a leadership role was Jasmine Bayley. Justine Mason, Deputy Principal, said, "We are very proud of the initiative taken by our students and their active response to trying to make a difference to the lives of other people."
