Bennison is also awaiting sentence for burgling Notre Dame Roman Catholic School in Derriford.
The court heard he told police that he committed that crime because he was "lazy, had a bad attitude and felt he could get away with it."
Judge Ian Leeming QC adjourned sentencing for Bennison to be assessed for a drug rehabilitation order.
Bennison has pleaded guilty to burgling the school in Looseleigh Lane on January 30 last year. He has also asked for five commercial burglaries to be taken into account.
He has also admitted possessing heroin with intent to supply, in Exeter on June 25 last year, while on bail for the burglary.
Defence counsel Andrew Oldland the defendant did have drug problems, had stayed off them in custody and was being assessed for a possible place at the Amber rehabilitation project in Devon.
