Holiday happiness
CONGRATULATIONS to Viable for outlining in The Herald (September 11), their plans for our city airport, if and when, they can re-open it. All the European cities that we will be able to fly to, absolutely fantastic.
As so many people have written to Your Say saying that Plymouth is dying and we are more, and more becoming so remote from the rest of country.
Someone a while ago wrote to Your Say and said, "Who in Plymouth is going to be able to afford to use the airport?"
Well thousands of people I should imagine. I flew from our city airport, when it was open, flying to the Channel Islands and Manchester. All excellent services and the journey was quick, and door to door.

I am now retired, from a profession I was in for 33 years and I certainly was not earning mega bucks, far from it.
Nowadays, sadly we seem to live in a materialistic and status symbol world. The attitude seems to be "I must have it! I've got to have it, even if I can't afford it."
Thankfully, I don't have that attitude and wasn't raised that way. My material things don't bring me happiness, however, my holidays do. That's more important to me.
So, the very best of luck to the Viable group. Their plan for the future of our airport is amazing and exactly what Plymouth needs.

“Well, Julie said - 'Nowadays, sadly we seem to live in a materialistic and status symbol world. The attitude seems to be "I must have it! I've got to have it, even if I can't afford it.'
Could say the same about the pro-airport lobby, couldn't you?”

“From the previous article "... and a plan to create a hub with worldwide reach in five to 10 years." I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry at this comment! This one line shows Viables plans to be a joke!!”
