A person was treated for smoke inhalation after fire broke out in a wooden holiday chalet.

Two fire crews attended the scene at Beachdown Bunalow, at Challaborough, along the South Devon coastline, at 5.15am yesterday.

They found a smouldering fire under the roof felt, and used a hosereel to extinguish the flames.

The chalet was badly damaged by fire and smoke.

Paramedics also treated a neighbour for the effects of the smoke.
