Horror 'glassing' in Plymouth's Walkabout pub
A REVELLER walked up to a man on a dancefloor and smashed a glass bottle in his face.
The shocked victim was dancing with a woman in a city centre pub when the horrifying attack unfolded. Police have launched a manhunt to trace the man responsible for the attack in Union Street's Walkabout bar at around 1.30am on Sunday, February 10.

The 20-year-old victim had to be taken to hospital for treatment to a large cut below his eye. Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault which happened close to the DJ box.
The suspect is described as a white man, about 6ft tall, and he was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans. He had tattoos on his arms including a large tattoo on his left bicep.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call police on 101, quoting crime ref EC/13/1340

“im a doorman with 20 years behind me i belive plastic bottles would make a big hit on the level of glass injuries. but knife crime and dusters will increase their will always be a weapon carried.
Theirs a pub watch radio system in place we use to pass on to other units to id trouble makers and not allow them in. when people get convicted for drink related crime ban them from pubs and clubs. get the pub watch system enforced to everyones licencing agrement would be a pretty good reduction in violent crime. unfortunatly their will always be drink related crime as these days younger drinkers drink in a wolf pack mentality and theirs always one gulible one who will try to make a name for himself.
we have good systems but need the backing of the courts in stiff sentancing which isnt their!”

“Join BottleStop - set up by a woman whose husband died subsequent to a glassing incident last year - leaving her bereft and with two young children. If all glasses and bottles in pubs were replace with polycarbonate this would not have happened.”
