Kimberley Walsh – Centre Stage
With a lifelong passion for musicals and a successful stint in Shrek: The Musical, a shift from the regular girlband-member-goes-solo route was a logical step for the 31-year-old. In this collection, musical numbers such as Defying Gravity from Wicked and Miss Saigon's I Still Believe are given a subtle twist by the hands of established pop producers Per Magnusson and David Kreuger, while Walsh's warm and husky tones soothe and belt out the big notes when required.

The debut album by Nashville native Winston Yellen is full of American music, country soul and folk-type tunes such as first single Even If We Try, which is already a winner, 22 and Borrowed Time, all sung in his angelic voice. This mellow album is a real grower.

Bullet For My Valentine – Temper Temper
BFMV fans have been waiting almost three years for the release of a new album, and the Welsh rockers, led by Matthew Tuck, don't disappoint. With their usual thrashing, fast-paced guitars and drums galore, they have adopted a catchier and slightly softer approach to the album in comparison to 2010's Fever.
