THERE'S a chance to get beneath the glaze on Tuesday and learn more about one of Britain's leading ceramic artists.

The talk by Helen Walsh of York Art Gallery is on Gordon Baldwin.

Objects for a Landscape, a show of his work, is one of the main exhibitions at Plymouth City Museum and Gallery this year.

The exhibition has been put together by York Museums Trust and coincides with Gordon's 80th birthday.

There is a related display in the foyer featuring work by some of Baldwin's early influences, including Shoji Hamada, Bernard Leach, Hans Coperand Lucie Rie.

The talk begins at 1.10pm in the gallery. The exhibition continues until May 11.
