International book fest to last nine days
FOLLOWING on from the Marine City Festival is the Plymouth International Book Festival, beginning on September 15 set to last nine days.
It will celebrate diverse literary work from writers including; Patrick Gale, Babette Cole and Philip Gross. And on the opening weekend they will be launching one of the most ambitious literary projects in recent years.
The Moby-Dick Big Read has been two years in the making and is designed to bring the literary classic to the attention of a new generation of fans. It will be launched with a public event in Plymouth University's Graduation Marquee on Sunday, September 16, featuring an exclusive reading by guest of honour, actor Simon Callow.
