Three Ivybridge town councillors elected by a 10 per cent turnout
A TOWN has three new councillors.
But only a dismal 10 per cent of voters turned out for the pre-Christmas council elections in Ivybridge last Friday.
Ben Butcher (Independent) and Karen Ann Pringle (no description given) were elected to represent the ward of Ivybridge Filham.
The pair were voted in after receiving 237 and 294 votes respectively.

They beat Ray Wilson (no description given) who got 114 votes.
Four hundred and ten ballot papers were issued and the turnout was 10.46 per cent in an electorate of 3,919 for the ward.
Even fewer people bothered to vote in the Ivybridge Central ward, where one seat was also up for grabs.
The winner was Thomas Norrie Bowden (Independent) who got 111 votes.
He beat his only rival Graham Edward Punchard (no description given) who got 78 votes. The overall turnout in the town's elections was just 9.7 per cent from an electorate of 1,982.
