J-Hawks batter the Bandits and send strong P&D title message
BASKETBALL: J-Hawks cemented second place in the P&D League and made a big statement with an emphatic 79-46 win over title rivals Bandits. The young J-Hawks started brightly, jumping out to a 25-10 lead at the end of the first period.
They extended their lead by taking the second quarter 17-7 to lead by 25 at half-time.
Bandits kept the game respectable in the second half tying the third quarter 15-15 before J-Hawks put the icing on the cake, controlling the final frame 22-14.
Tristan Hall led J-Hawks with 26 points and was named most valuable player (MVP).

Wizards got back to winning ways with a 75-66 victory over Plymouth Sharks.
After a narrow first half, which Wizards edged by five points, Sharks pegged Wizards back in the third, taking the quarter 18-16.
However, experience conquered youth as the veteran Wizards took the fourth 23-18. Matt Garton led all scorers with 39 points.
Callington quietly continue to rack up victories. They beat local rivals Bude 78-52. Callington won all but the third quarter en route to a 26-point win. Phil Collings was named MVP with 23 points.
