Japanese star joins Argyle on trial
JAPANESE midfielder Akihiro Ienaga has started a trial with Plymouth Argyle.
The 22-year-old saw the Pilgrims' 1-0 defeat by Birmingham City at Home Park on Tuesday night, after arriving in the city the previous night.

Akihiro Ienaga
Ienaga will be training with Argyle until next Thursday, according to manager Paul Sturrock.
The versatile midfielder has spent most of his career at Gamba Osaka, but has recently been on loan to their J-League rivals Oita Trinita.
Ienaga has played once for the Japanses national team.
He was an 85th minute substitute for Keita Suzuki, another player who Argyle have been linked with, in a 2-0 win against Peru in a friendly in Yokohama.
Argyle added Japanese businessman Yasuaki Kagami to their board of directors in April.
And they followed that up by naming former Japanese international footballer Yasuhiko Okudera as the club president.

“I am flying back for the game as did I when we played derby away. The fans there were special. Signing the whole game. Sam sung it wasnt aimed at you, its just appears to be a westcountry mentality to always feel happy moaning or being happy thinking that things are supposed to be blow par than teams upthe line. I am Cornish and proud of being an Argyle supporter. We are a different league as a club even though we arent in the Premier League. This club in 2000 needed to think different and Sturrock and stapleton did just that. Fed up with the moaners. Who remembers Cheltenham away losing 5-2 - yes I do 8 short years ago....some of these posts have short memories indeed. Oh and by the way Steve,,,you go out and buy a nice Russ Aboot albnum and get ur mum to cook u a bolied egg..total loser! hehe.”

“If there is anyone out there with a logical answer I would like to know why it is in order for Man.Utd,Chelsea,Arsenal and Liverpool etc. to employ the services of players from wherever they stick a pin in a map of the world, yet when Argyle venture outside the leafy lanes of Devon for a player it merits ridicule.”

“Sorry RB Manila - seems our posts crossed.
You are in the same team as Dave and Baz - sense talkers and agree totally with the comment about Steve or is it Red Robbo - people who are not sure WHO they think they support!
High 5 to you for making the journey - I thought I did alot from Inverness to Plymouth when I worked there! See you at the Emirates - have 4 wonderful tickets to take my folks on a very good day out which it will be irrespective of the result.
Keep it Green”

“Seems that Dave in Worcester and Banzai Baz are the sense talkers here - the others as per usual are the gloom and doom merchants....Well done Steve Leicester/Plymouth/Red Robbo Plymuff for trying (badly) to disguise your identity - all the same person in my eyes.
Lets give this lad a chance. We haven't even seen him at all in person let alone seen him in a green shirt. He needs several games (at least 6) to show us what he can do. Be positive and keep the faith and maybe this could be one answer to our midfield problems.
Don't knock it till it has been tried!”

Sturrock is that. whats ur alternative? exactly u have none. u moan and have no better suggestions. thats why plymouth suffer - fickle stupidity and bumpkin mentality - wake up and smell the coffee... COYG. and yes i go to games and se you at emirates..and yes...ive been to away games this season and i live 7000 miles away!!!!”

“Ok the scottish invasion is over . Now begins the japanese invasion at home park. It wont happen over night but luggys tactics are all wrong and unless he changes them eventually he will get the sack. We will have to wait and see how good the japanese players are. Who knows they might even be good.”

“- Dave, worcester - 5 goals in 87 appearances for Osaka doesn't seem to be an attacking midfielder to me. Your point about a work permit is a good point. Time will tell !”
