Jon Tiernan-Locke Wins Again
Fresh from his victory at the Tour Méditerranéen, Plymouth cyclist Jon Tiernan-Locke has continued the great start to his season with a second succesive stage race victory by taking the final stage and overall at the Tour du Haut Var.
The strong field included Thomas Voeckler, who followed up a victory in last years edition with a fourth place in The Tour de France.
After finishing the 189.2km 1st stage, from Draguignan to La Croix Valme, in 3rd place and 6 seconds down on Romain Hardy and Clément Koretzky of France, the former Combe Dean student was in a good position for the 2nd and final day.
During the 205.4km 2nd Stage from Fréjus to Fayence Jon showed his strength with 2 km to go and took the victory comfortably, winning the overall in the process.
