Tavistock, with the wind at their backs, responded with a try in the corner. The conversion was missed.
The score remained the same until the final moments when Tavvy struck with a well-engineered try.
Ivybridge U15...5 Barnstaple U15...54
IVYBRIDGE were found wanting against their north Devon rivals as they sought to avoid a second successive defeat.
The hosts, beaten 17-7 at home by local rivals Kingsbridge last time out, were always second best to a strong and well-drilled Barum outfit.
The opening exchanges were competitive, with Ivybridge playing up the slope and unable to clear their lines, allowing Barnstaple to open the scoring with a slick passing move to the wing which capitalised on some missed tackles.
Ivybridge remained on the back foot and only good cover tackles by Connor Henderson at full-back prevented the score increasing.
The home side then gifted Barnstaple a try when instead of clearing the ball they tried to pass out of their own five-metre line and lost the ball for an easy score.
Ivybridge came back into the game and from a good line-out passed the ball quickly and accurately for Jordan Smith to score in the corner.
Barum came back and scored two easy tries for a 22-5 lead at the break.
Barnstaple scored almost from the restart and then ran in five more tries to complete the emphatic victory.
Saltash U14...5 Devonport Services U14...52
SERVICES added another hefty win to their bright season start bossing this clash with hosts Saltash from the off.
The visitors started strongly with the pack dominating in the set-pieces and at the breakdown.
Early tries were scored by Josh Atwill and Adam White and converted by Jamie Campbell.
Following further tries from Tom Simpson and Jamie Campbell, Services took their foot off the pedal allowing Ashes to enjoy more possession, but found the visitors' defence in resolute form.
Services ran in more tries from Alex Williams, Peter Loxdale and Charles Young, and Jack Finnie scored a try on his debut return before Saltash grabbed consolation points.
Newton Abbot U13...22 Plymstock Albion Oaks U13...7
OAKS gave four players their debuts and put in a gutsy performance against a bigger and stronger Abbot outfit.
After an even first half which Abbot led with an unconverted try, the hosts' better fitness told as they ran in three tries one of which was converted.
Oaks can be commended for fighting back and scored a great try from new centre Joe Pinder, successfully converted by fly-half Sam Lenthall.
Flanker Regan Spencer was man of the match for fine tackling and rucking, while his Oaks' team-mate and new wing Alex Chapman was named tackler of the match.
Open-side flanker Leon Edwards and make-shift centre Sam Ling played well.
