'Are Labour's new snow wardens training in Siberia?'
"SOMEWHERE between one and 250,000 volunteers" have been recruited to a team of city snow wardens, says council leader Tudor Evans.
Cllr Evans was challenged in a meeting of the full Plymouth City Council yesterday over the failure to deliver a manifesto pledge to set up a team of snow wardens.
Cllr Nigel Churchill (Con, Plymstock Dunstone) asked Cllr Evans: "Where were the snow wardens promised in your manifesto during the recent snowfall? The only answer I will accept is, 'Training in Siberia'."
Cllr Evans said the council had been asking for volunteers, but he was unable to say whether anyone had stepped forward.
2 courses £9.95 or 3 courses £12.95 available lunch time Tuesday to Sunday and Monday to Sunday evenings 5-7pm.

"When we have a team of volunteers we will start training."
Pushed on whether any volunteers had stepped forward yet, he said it was a number somewhere between one and 250,000.

“Is Evans really a fit person to be in charge of a council? I wouldn't let him take my dog for a walk.”

“this would be a good wind up if today was april 1st, why do we need snow wardens, and what are they going to - pick up the snow flakes as they land, stop kids from throwing snowballs and sledging on elf n safety ground. and buy the way how much does 'volunteer training' cost?
Know wonder this city is falling apart when councillors debate idiotic ideas like this”
