Lack of investment
SO THIS Coalition Government is going to spend £32bn on "improving" high speed rail, linking the UK's major cities. Where are these major cities? London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Sheffield, Leeds and Manchester. Well doesn't the South West do well?
Surely the chaos of recent months would encourage some measured investment aimed at guaranteeing links with London, let alone reducing journey times. I'll not even go down the path of Plymouth's non-airport.
Tory governments have destroyed the Royal Dockyard and done little or nothing to encourage quality industries to come to this neck of the wood.
Yes, we're all in it together; but the available monies are not being distributed equitably. Some cities are obviously more equal than others.

“As long as people keep voting for the established political parties nothing will ever change. The far South West is always ignored. Cornwall has Mebyon Kernow which looks after Cornish issues. I really think Devon has enough economic problems and a strong identity to have its own political party. It's time for Devon's voice to be heard! PUT DEVON FIRST. That is the only way Westminster will pay attention.”
